When walking around wavy Moscow streets and boulevards, do not forget to explore Nikitskaya street and streets around it - it is magnificent! not only does it have rich history, but it also has a lot of quaint restaurants and shops.

Walked this street as a part of Lonely Planet suggested walking tour. It's a nice street, but I could not appreciate it without a wider context of who lived where and so on. Did not make a very lasting impression on me.

Staying in Arbat

Neighbourhood Profile
Arbat
Crowds of tourists, both local and international take in Old Arbat and its modern and gigantic peer – New Arbat. One reason visitors keep coming is no doubt Konstantin Melnikov’s famous private house, now open to the public and worthy of a visit. After exploring one of the oldest parts of Moscow, avoid the crowds and turn to the side streets and boulevards where calmness and affordable food is plentiful.
