Located on Cathedral Square, this church may look worn on the outside but it is worth a visit inside as it is the burial ground of Ivan IV the Terrible as well as the princes before him ad after him up till before Peter the Great. Its Russian history before your eyes.

A BEAUTIFUL Cathedral of the Kremlin, the Archangel Michael was the patron saint of the rulers of Muscovy. It was the burial place of all rulers till peter the Great. It is a beautiful Kremlin Cathedral. The fact it survived communism is a miracle. The iconography is traditional Russian. This is a must see sight

The Cathedral Sq has so much to offer and in my opinion is the must see place in Moscow, in top 3. This beautiful Church is also included in the ticket, and it is dedicated to Archangel Michael. The Church is famous for being the burial place for Muscovite princes and first Tsars of Russia. Immaculate frescoes and iconostasis decorate... More

One of the beautiful churches on Cathedral Square in the Kremlin. The church holds tombs of the 14-15th centuries and was the burial vaults of the Russian monarchs. In the 16th century it was decorated with murals by order of Ivan the Terrible.

Main burial site for rulers of Russia from ancient times until the capital moved to SPb. Great architecture of the church, both inside and outside. At the entrance you can take very informative handout, avaliable in many languages, free of charge.

This Cathedral is located near to the Borovitzkaya ulitza, to the south from the Uspensky Sobor. The Cathedral of the Archangel ( Arkhangelsky Sobor) is a Russian Orthodox church dedicated to the Archangel Michael. Here was the main necropolis of the Tsars through the history of Russia, more exactly until the capital moved to the Saint Petersburg. It was built... More

This is a real treasure of history. it's one of the great 5 cathedrals on the cathedral square. its importance also lies in the fact that it has the remainings, tombs of the famous tsars, 46 of them. a magnificent architectural design and a more impressive historical value. A must see.

What a great History, dated 14th century. Unbelievable happenings but this is truth. Very interesting although I felt sad, wall-painted as Cathedral of Assumption. Worth the visit, recommended !
