House in a former Japanese administration building this museum displays both ethnographic and natural exhibits of Sakhalin Island, and history of the island. Interesting to those with a particular focus on recent Japanese history and peoples of the Sakhalin.

The museum is located in a historic Japanese building. It isn't very big, just several halls on 2 floors. A good start if you want to know where you are - one hall is about animals, the rest are dedicated to history.
