Went as part of a group with our own guide to see site of Rasputin's demise. Also the family residence of the Yusopov family. Highlights after the scenes of the plot and murder are the dance room where a group of singers perform a Capella, and the truly beautiful theatre. A must for all visitors to this city

This a great palace to visit for a half day trip. With an audio guide and looking properly at everything took about two hours. It was not very busy and so had opportunity to absorb the atmosphere. There is a intimate feel compared to the Hermitage and it is full of beautiful furniture, floors, ceilings, paintings and surprises. Try and... More

This is not on the 'hit parade' of tourist stops, however you will be pleasantly surprised at a stop that is well worth while.

The Yusupov family that owned this palace until the revolution competed with the Romanovs in wealth and there is lots of history in this palace that feels more intimate than the Hermitage. Sadly the art is now largely elsewhere but this leaves the visitor to take in the beauty of the decor in the many state rooms. The audio guide... More

Absolutely gorgeous palace. Exquisite architecture and craftsmanship throughout. Make sure you look up at the ceilings and down at the floors.

The Yusupov Palace is one of two surviving St. Petersburg residences of the monumentally wealthy Yusupov family. It is perhaps most famous as the scene of the assassination of Grigory Rasputin. There is now a display in the palace museum that uses photography, documents, and wax figures to recreate the assassination and the following investigation - a bit cheesy in... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Interesting exhibit on the assassination of Rasputin, plus the beauty of the palace. Well worth the visit- takes about one hour to see.

The Moika Palace or Yusupov Palace was once the primary residence in St. Petersburg of the House of Yusupov. The building was the site of Grigori Rasputin's murder in the early morning of December 17, 1916.This magnificent palace is worth a visit. Not only for a sense of the wealth that it represents but also for the history associated with... More

A nice palace to visit and it reflects how people actually lived which makes it a bit different than many of the others you might visit. The audio guide was quite good and informative.
