The shop itself is beautiful, with Art-Noveau ceilings and paintings, and an always lively atmosphere. But if you want to have a really unforgettable eating experience go to the restaurant with a hided access at the end of the shop, on the top of wooden stairs. Simply outstanding.

This is a site worth seeing, and you may be tempted to buy yourself a little sample chocolate or sweets, despite the prices. Enjoy the interior and exterior of this beautiful space, and possibly also a taste sensation.

I love the Eliseyev Emporium & food hall - its where the aristocrats shopped in Imperial times. The building is a magnificent example of Art Nouveau architecture and is located in the heart of the city along Nevsky Prospekt. We enjoy stopping in for a coffee and a sweet (their pastry cases are filled with delicious works of art) &... More

When you enter this place you are greeted by a variety of foods and drink, such a surprise to find these things here. The Art Nouveau décor is just splendid. I could have spent ages wandering around and taking a good look at all the things on offer, unfortunately time was against me. Presentation was wonderful but it is expensive.... More

When you enter the food hall, you enter another dimension. There is a paradise for gourmets on this earth and it 's in St Petersburg ! It's also beautiful presented. The finest caviars and best vodka. And all of the expensive finest food of the world. Worth Ali Baba 's treasure cavern, but you have to bring your own gold... More

Dopio and triple chocolate cake for breakfast? Breakfast of champions! I loved this place, probably my favorite food stop in Russia so far. I simply loved the ambiance and I could complete several circles just looking at the confectionary creations :-) just marvelous

This is a beautiful Art Nouveau specialty food shop ... the marzipan is delicious! ... and the food shopping is very informative, even if you can't take it with you!

Stumbled across this gem by accident on our first night in St Petersburg - stopped to look at the whimsical Christmas window display, then peeked a little closer to see what was inside and WOW! One is instantly transported back to to the late 1800's in this magical, art nouveau treasure chest - with central palm tree surrounded by a... More

This gorgeous store reminded me a little bit of Fortnum and Mason in London - very ornate, unusual and a gem of a venue. We had Russian Tea and Cake that was so wonderful looking I did not want to eat it!. The shop has gorgeous little niceties - hand made chocolates, caviar, wines, teas, etc. Great service from the... It is definitely one of the most famous food store in the city - Eleseyev Grocery Store - in a magnificent art nouveau building, you can easily spot while walking along the Nevsky. Piano music, the smell of hot coffee and baking, the beautiful sight of red and black caviar, will give you a sense of Russian bourgeois atmosphere of... More
