This island is situated as the last one on the wide Neva delta.Just going across the main course of Neva, then the Petrogradsky District Island and finally over Krestovskiy Island, we at last got to our destination, i.e. Yelagin Island. In the first time, this island was inhabited by a colony of the fishermen. Afterwards it changed the hands of... More

We took a very long walk through this beatiful park, fed the squirles and had a lot of fun. I assume that on a sunny day it can even more impressive as you can take a boat ride in the parks pond.

Yelagin Island is an ideal place to spend time if you want some nature in the city. Its a beautiful park with numerous alleys, grass fields to lay down, small lake and opportunity to feed the birds and squirrels. Its amazing in spring, since lots of trees are blossoming, and perfect place to take colorful pictures in autumn. In summer... More

Yelagin Island and the amusement park can easily be reached by metro to Krestovsky Ostrov metro station. Amusement park is just outside the metro station. In the same direction, just a few hundred meters walk across a small bridge, is Yelagin Island. Large lovely park and picturesgue palace. The island is ideal for walking and sports like biking and rowing... More

This was one of the most beautiful spots in St Petersburg. Many people come to the city for the architecture, performances, etc., but this park should not be missed. It has everything - woods, lakes, shoreline, views, and even a small museum (which we did not get to visit). If you've got children, leave a few hours for Yelagin to... More

Very beautiful, very well-tended park, with a lovely architectural ensemble designed by Carlo Rossi, no less. And it's just five minutes walk from the Krestovsky ostrov stop on Metro 5. As you exit the station, you'll see a big amusement park with rides for the kiddies. Turn right and pass it by, cross the pedestrian bridge, and you're there. It's... More

Wonderful island, quiet but not boring. There are squirrels that you can feed. We just had a walk and then had a small picknik and played cards. It was a great day. The only downside was that at one day there were so many people that they started charging for entry. It was just 50 rubles for students and 100rubles... More

As Saint Petersburg can be a busy, crowded and noisy place, a little trip over to Elagin Island is a worthwhile break from the hectic activity of city life. Take the purple line on the Metro to Krestovsky Ostrov, and then walk to the main road and turn right. You'll then cross a little bridge which leads directly into the... More

I went inside the palace as well. there... More

Nice place for a weekend walk - large green area in the city where you can feed the squirrels, take a boat for rent and do many-many other things which you can find on their site.
