If your in Kazan you have to visit the mosque. The colours are fantastic and inside it looks modern and grand. Woman do have to wear head scarfs but the men don't.

Excellent place to be at Kazan Kremlin. Quite scenic and photogenic. You can spend a full day with family at Kremlin and places around it.

If you must see one thing in Kazan, that's it! Grandiose, elegant and a beauty. The largest mosque in Europe (not counting Istanbul's, because it wasn't originally a mosque). Make a second trip at night too.
