We did the walk around part of Baikal from Listvyanka as a day trip from Irkutsk, after about 45 minutes on the marshrutka from the city market. The village seemed tiny at first, with not a lot to see or do and we were wondering...More

Stunning views and camping places all along the trail. Trees are marked so low chances to get lost. Already cold in September, but you may be lucky to catch sunny days.

This path is hard and very lengthy. Be ready that phones don’t work there - it’s pure forest everywhere. And if you get some incident (accident) no one will be able to help you. Because there is no posts with people or anything there. And...More

One leg of the Great Baikal Trail goes from Listvyanka to Bol'shie Koty. Around 22km and a stunning hike especially at this time of the year if ice is around. Accommodation at both ends and you could extend your hike if you have time. Plenty...More

Lake Baikal is absolutely beautiful and there is no better way to see it than walking a section of the Great Baikal Trail. We took the one hydrofoil running a day from Irkutsk to Bolshie Koty. Unfortunately it doesn't go until 12.30, arriving at 2pm....More
