I am not a big friend of railway stations. Volgograd Railway Station looks like classical Soviet building. It is not good, neither bad, but it is working anyway. The staff is now more friendly than in the old Soviet time.

This station was taken and held by the Germans during most of the battle of Stalingrad. It gives you an idea of how incredibly close they were to the Volga river, which they were never able to reach. It is also a beautiful building, but...More

Arrived at the Volgograd railway station by train, large clean and spacious Soviet era railway station. Albeit with tight security. Nice fountain in front of station.

It is heavily guarded after the terrorist suicide attack here. Now the building is renovated, very modern and nice place to spend the few hours before your train.

Love a great city station that has style and functionality. Building has that Soviet era feel to it. Airport security check literally as you go in. Nice and clean and nice fountain outside.

Security check from entrance as in airport. There was an explosion, but now very peaceful. We came here days ago by airplane, but we wanted to see this station. Ceiling is high and decorated with pictures of war. Chairs are comfortable to sit. Many ticket...More

Very user friendly train station after a long train ride from Moscow. The station is also close to the city centre

The building from the outside is beautiful and worth a walk past. I did not go inside as I didn't have the time, plus there was a heavy security presence.
