Largely organized and paid for by the mothers of fallen soldiers, this is a remarkable memorial to combatants who paid the prices of sometimes questionable decisions made by government leaders. The Russian war in Afghanistan is at the center of this memorial, but local soldiers...More

One of the symbols of the city, and a must-see for history lovers. A really solemn but heroic representation of the war.

One of the local monuments it is important to see to understand the importance of Russia involvement in different wars and what peoples sacrifice during those periods.

We had a whistle stop here just to take photos but it was very thought provoking and very nice to see that these soldiers are remembered.

Have seen many war memorials around the world but this one is quite moving as it remembers recent history. Worth a visit if just to think for a while.

Another Russian War Memorial, but like all Russian War Memorials extremely well and tastefully done. What does make this memorial different is that commemorates those who died in the disastrous Afghan war as opposed to WWII. Moving ambience about the place.

This monument is nothing special. But its located in a nice small park. There are a few trees and some nice places to site. I think its worth at least one visit.

A very unusual monument which is strangely emotional. You must go and see it. Spend a few minutes reflecting on what it symbolises

I don't know why, but when I visited there I felt pretty sad right the way. All of sudden I felt for those who lost their families in war. When I left this place, I prayed for peace in my heart.
