This place is surrounded by old buildings, residences and local delicacies restaurants. Landscaping is well-maintained. Nearby residents like to gather in this park for exercising, sports and mingling. A good place for evening and weekend relaxation.

A little run down in places but considering the volume of visitors, nice and clean. Great for walking, exercising or for watching people walking and exercising. Tai chi, badminton, they do it all here. Often a little opera or stage play happening and the the series of lakes, bridges and pathways has enough to keep you interested. Pleasant area with... More

This is a great series of lakes and promenades that abuts a very old section of the city that is also worth exploring. Watching families playing shuttlecock, or simply sitting under a veranda when heavy rains pound the water (making the ducks very happy), it is a wonderful place to just relax and plan further activities.

We saw an open air Chinese opera there on Sunday, lots of locals strolling and playing hackeysack. Very humid but green and pleasant, with big rainforest fig trees.

Modern old style Chinese buildings and an artificial lake but you'll hardly notice while you enjoy a nice sunny day on the park. We hired a boat, 100rmb deposit and they give you back your change depending on how long you spend cruising the lake. There are also group tour boats availible to book but we wanted to drive ourselves.... More

Come sit on a bench or have a meal on a boat in this nice park. People come here to escape from the trafic (that will still be clearly hearable though). Or to play some badmington obviously.

To fully experience Liwan lake you need to hire a boat for a cruise of the lake and adjoining Lychee Bay park. Alternatively, you can hire a water tricycle and pedal yourself. The park itself is fairly large (good for a stroll) and has plenty of shaded areas where you can sit down to relax and admire the views. If... More
