A nice hidden place located in Yuexiu area. It is too cold by the time I visited, so there's no orchid in the garden. However, the garden itself is still beautiful. I spent time to sip orchid tea in a small tea house, which is super pleasant.

Good place for a leisurely stroll, sipping tea on a misty morning amongst the orchids. This historic garden was saved from 'development' due to its historic patronage by former Communist general Zhu De. This is a great place to relax away from the crowds in the midst of downtown Guangzhou. The clientele is mostly seniors, who get in for free.... More

This mini forest with wide variety of orchids as its main attraction started as a miniature garden for plant specimens in 1951. The cultivation of orchids started in 1957. Since then, through gradual development, the orchid garden has expanded within this 36,000 sqm of land. The best time to view the beauty of orchids is during Spring Festival (Chinese New... More

While not all the orchids were in bloom when we were in town in late April / early May, the orchid garden was still a great place to see the orchid varieties bloomed in the greenhouse area, walk around the waterways and other paths and relax in an oasis right in the middle of the bustling city. We were told... More

The Canton Orchid Garden is conveniently right across the street from The China Hotel (The Marriott). It is a simple garden but with a few lovely areas and a few great orchids. My brother is an orchid specialist ( The Orchid Whisperer ), and I showed him the pix of the garden. He agreed that there are some lovely species... More

A serene retreat in the middle of the bustling city, this is definitely an excellent and convenient place to experience a distinctly Asian garden. Its atmosphere is tranquil with all the surrounding nature yet it is located on a busy road. There are also several tea houses located within the premise. Make sure you find the one with A/C in... Not far from Yuexiu park, this garden is an amazing place to chill out and get away from the busy streets of Guangzhou. The main attraction of course is the orchid pavilion featuring some 200 species; they are incredibly beautiful but when I was there it was so crowded that I couldn't enjoy the place too much. Aside of the... More
