Whilst some enclosures are great, with space, shelter, water areas for the animals housed in them, others are not. It is obvious that they are modernising and improving but frustrating to see some areas are still in the style of bad zoos. Family friendly, lots of eating areas. You pay extra to go to the aquatic area. You can pay... More

Sadly, a lot of animal houses were under construction, including the panda, kangaroo and zebra. Furthermore, it seemed a bit strange to see the racoons having a huge space and, for example, the elephant only a small space. However, for only ¥20 it was nice to spend a morning there. Inside of the zoo, they offered other small exhibitions such... More

Mostly everything was under construction, it was completely terrible! I went for pandas only but no pandas were seen. There were very few animals. The circus inside was cool and for that it cost 20 yuan for each person even if you paid for the entrance , you need to pay separately for these. Its a total disaster. Pandas, lesser pandas,... More

I did think it a little odd that raccoons got a huge exhibit and the big cats were squeezed into cages so small I wanted to cry. Overall, the zoo is large and beautiful. There were two giant pandas there when we went.

We went here to pass a day. This zoo is poor to average. The pens for animals are small and lots of stairs. IT IS NOT STROLLER FRIENDLY. I ended up carrying the stroller 75% of the time because of the number of stairs. We saw baby ducks and mice in the snake pens which was very disturbing to some... More

Everything was under construction, no big pandas seen, and really few animals overall. Taxi drivers didn't even know the place and they don't speak/understand English at all! Saw two red pandas, beautiful creature but not enough to describe as an useful / nice experience!

The condition of the zoo is only of acceptable standard but China zoo are always very impressive in the range of animals they have. Ticket price is low at CNY 20 and place is directly accessible by MRT.

I spent the afternoon here in September and the weather was still brutally hot so we didn't spend to long walking round as it was too hot. The Zoo is ok, the enclosures are very small though and the elephant enclosure is ridiculous. they do have a good selection of animals and the walk in Bird enclosure is good. The... More

We enjoyed visiting the Guangzhou Zoo when we were in China. The price was reasonable to get in, and there were some unique animals like the white lions which we enjoyed seeing. The giant pandas were inside of a building staying cool, which disappointed us, but nobody could help that. The only complaint we had was that once you get... More

There isn't anything really special about this place. I have seen better Zoos, but it still can be a good way to spend the day out if you have nothing else to do. Some interesting animals to see, like the Pandas, which I didn't get to since their section was being renovated. I was pretty disappointed with that. Still, if... More
