Ancient Huangpu Port is a must visit to find the history of Guangzhou town. do take the small boat ride to explore the local culture.

The other reviews don't do the old port justice. It's quiet during the week but comes alive on the weekend with a real array of food, drink and stalls of all kinds. Highly recommend a couple of hours to walk around then eat then shop.
