No guide required. Good to walk around yourself.

The park is of reasonable size. Give yourself about 1.5 - 2 hours if you do want to walk up the mountain. The path is properly done up, not difficult. View from the top is... read more

Because it's the icon of the city, that you need to pay so much to see? It doesn't make sense. Plus, there's nothing much to do inside the park, except seeing that famous elephant trunk. I was here 10 years ago, nothing is ever commercial like nowadays. Rip-off entrance price to keep you away, thick fences are set up to... More

Absolutely not worth the entrance fee. It's a park with only one thing to see... The elephant rock. Everything in the park, boats, pictures with actors, etc, costs extra. Don't bother. Go climb one of the free mountains such as Lao Ren Shan (old man mountain). Much better view.

If like me you want to see the "elephant" (????) then the best view is on a boat on the Li river. They have made the rock (which maybe one day did look like an elephant but sadly is now quite overgrown) into a commercial money-making attraction. Shame!

Very pleasant park and gardens, with a good climb to top of hill and good views. Check out the weird lovers lane park. A story of a couple told with statues.

At the end of our tour on the Li River Cruise our guide took us to see the Elephant Trunk Hill. The elephant looked very peaceful, and content to have people stop and admire him/her. Glad we stopped.

Scenic area along the river bank with a lovely park attached - worth a stroll in the cool of the morning while locals perform their Tai Chi and dance.

Limestone formations interest me so I enjoyed this park. It may not be for everyone, as the park is built around this hill with little else to offer.
