This house is not the fake - manicured - aseptized tourist attraction you can see in other places. It is still inhabited and hold various type of artistic events. As a result it has a soul and worn facades! The visit is definitely worth it...More

We stumbled across the Gao Courtyard House as we were exploring the Muslim Quarter. Its highly recommended for a short detour and I think is one of the last remaining courtyard houses inside the City Walls

Most of the building still in original form, you get to see how the students used to live. There you can also purchase a ticket to watch to short shadow play.
