One of the last walled cities left in China, Great visit. We took a buggy ride around 2 sides and walked the rest. Excellent views and information stops. Well worth a visit.

I don't know if I went up on the wrong section or because my guide didn't explain it well enough but I didn't get anything out of the wall. We walked along the top for maybe half an hour because I wasn't in good enough...More

You can climb up and see the city from a different perspective so well maintained. Love the entire area! Could have easily spent an extra few days in Xi'an!!!

After advice from a fellow traveller, I did the cycle around the city wall, and it was spectacular! 55-60yuan to enter the city wall plus 45-50 to hire the bike for 2 hours (200¥ deposit) is well worth the views you get. I did the...More

We would like to have had more time on the wall although the views from the part we walked were not exceptional, too many modern buildings

We went a bit later in the afternoon so as to catch the sunset and it sure was worth it! Definitely rent a bike as the wall is too long to walk and the south/west sides are more interesting to view the city from. There...More

I would recommend the bike ride from the West gate to the Southern Gate - we took a couple bike and it was a fun ride! Bikes are in good shape and plenty to see along the way. Didn't use up 120 minutes but go...More

Impressive Wall built to fortify a central tower. Up to 30m wide in places and some 14km around the perimeter which is surrounded by a moat. Impressive display of Chinese architecture which has for the keen hire bikes to ride all the way around bearing...More

This is a surprisingly good attraction which offers an excellent insight into the art of fortification. The English language signage is excellent and informative. Our 8 and 5 year olds loved it but were hugely disappointed to learn that a city ordinance debars those under...More

Bike hire is good fun and it will get you round the whole wall. Do it just before sunset and you'll see it in the light and dark. Everything lights up really pretty.

Flying from Shanghai was short, but it was a hassle. My flight was supposed to land at 10:30pm and it landed about 3am. Thankfully my guide waited for me at the airport all night.

Yeah it wasn't too expensive ~ 45 Yuan each. We got two tandem bikes and we had them as long as we wanted. At the gate we went to we bypassed the closest bike rental and walked maybe 200 yds to a second one. The bikes... More
