Guandu Ancient City is just across the street from Kunming Museum. The place is very big and basically very touristy and also full of locals.

In south Kunming across from new Provincial Museum. Very touristy with lots of places to shop local souvenirs and sample local and other dishes. Try the Burmese restaurant in the back for authentic, tasty Burmese fare. Some local museums, but did not visit them.
Very lively and local nice place to visit. Lots of locals go here to sing and dance as well. Lots of souvenirs, interesting buys, good food and snacks in a nice old architectural environment! Worth a visit!

This place is not far from Kunming City n it's easy to get there.. I like the ancient taste buildings around. One must try the local specialities at the food street or stop by a tea house to have a pot of "pu er".
