DIan Chi is the must visit place at Kunming. You can see plenty types of birds at Dian Chi and the scenery is fantastic when you see from cable car.

After a filling rice noodle soup lunch, we walked along Dian Lake and enjoyed the antics of the people and seagulls. A fun outing.

It's a huge lake at the fringe of kunming, accessible by bus 7 from downtown about 2rmb and 30mins ride. A very big lake, nice to take along walk around but otherwise nothing too muchto expect.

Beautiful day with zillions of red-beaked gulls all over, and almost as many Chinese snapping pictures of themselves and their children feeding them. Water views with hills beyond made gorgeous views. Enough stuffed gull/bread crumb vendors, but not too many. Scattered bathrooms along the way....More

This is a big lake in Kunming. There are many attractions nearby such as Yunnan Nationalities Village, Daguan Park, Haigeng Park, Western Hills, etc. I suggest going to Haigeng Park to enjoy the lakeside view or take a cable car to top of Western Hills...More
