Large and pretty gardens.

These gardens covered a huge area, of which we only covered about a third of! They were very pretty, with a lake area and pavilion cafe area.

Some of the plants were a thousand years old (according t my calculation). It was a truly amazing experience to even try to imagine the age of the trees. It definitely was worth seeing

Large garden area and if you walked some relatives;y few people! Many local birds in foliage including Red Billed Blue Magpies. Himalayan Black Bulbul. Hill Blue Flycatcher. Most quiet area in all of Hangzhou.

We took the city bus here and the bus stop is not a long walk from the garden gates but it was difficult to find the gates as you're already in a park and the signs, though in English, send you in circles. Take a taxi to spare the hassle. The gardens are really lovely. Took about two hours to... More

This set of botanical gardens are well worth a visit. The exquisite way of the Chinese to balance nature of greenery, trees and waterways is a credit to the original designers & those who upkeep them nowadays. This garden blends the harmony of all the different types of plants, trees and rocks to create a very beautiful place to walk... More

That's what they call lycoris, the brilliant orange lily-like flowers that strut their stuff in August. Can't wait to go back and see this beautiful garden in the spring, when the plum blossoms go crazy. The bonsai garden, bamboo garden and fish pond are must-see's year-round.

Although few flowers were in bloom in our mid-May visit, the surroundings are peaceful and beautifully landscaped. A very attractive museum of contemporary artist Han Meiling is in the heart of the botanical garden. He does paintings, calligraphy, sculpture and anything else you can imagine. Definitely worth a half hour visit.

Hangzhou Botanical Garden was very large spacewise but not having many flowers inside. There were water ponds, pavilions, promenades, restaurants and tree/vegetarian corners around. Nice to spend half a day inside to escape from the noisy city environment.
