Free entrance

Free admission, a lot of things to see and some interactive items too. Not everything is in English though. Worth a look.

Given the terrific staff and international setting of the university, it was disappointing to see such an old-school, nineteenth-century presentation of otherwise pretty interesting exhibits. The renovations to this great building and the free entrance are what make it a worthwhile brief stop. The cafe has quite good food, but the chemical smell from the exhibits (moth balls come to... The museum is being closed for renewal so can't get inside. But the way to museum is beautiful. It is worth for walking. I like it :)

The last review (June 26) brought me here, however the museum is undergoing repairs from April until July (unspecified completion date). Be sure to call ahead before making a trip just for the museum! Despite that , the university campus is very beautiful and worth checking out.

Must see place if you visit University of Hokkaido. Enjoy walking or jogging inside the campus. Pass the soveniour shop, you may find good stuff there. A small bakery shop sells pestories with reasonal students price.

It won't be a waste of time to visit if your trip to Sapporo is a leisurely that allows you to explore things on your own. There are interesting stuff in here but you may want to skip that room about skin diseases. That was so random.

The Hokkaido University Campus is not very large as you would expect in a city center. The University Museum is full of artifacts and specimens of many animals and bugs. Don't expect it to be like a national museum, but for a university museum, it is one of the best I have ever entered. Most of all, the museum toilet... More

nice historical building on a very agreeable campus. However, everything is in japanese and there is no way to understand the magnificent history of Hokkaido University. Too bad !

Located on a beautifully quiet campus in midtown Sapporo, the museum is housed in the former Physics Building. The exhibits are divided between scientific presentations and homage to the founders and developers of the school and its recent Nobel Prize winner.

This is located on the grounds of the Hokkaido University Botanical Gardens. It has a small but good collection of Ainu artifacts. The musical instruments and other artifacts resembled Inuit artifacts.
