This point of interest is often neglected by tourists, IMO, it offers a good day trip out esp. in a sunny day, as the settings are mostly outdoors. It's educational and fun. I went on Tozai Line (Subway)[Shin Sapporo Sta.]+bus bound for [No.22 Kaitakunomura](15min) to last bus stop. It costs ¥830 for the admission, you can also buy the comb.... More

Highly recommended. The historic buildings have many stories to tell, each unique in their own ways. These buildings were imported from different parts in Hokkaido, coming together to weave the fascinating story of Hokkaido. The place is big and definitely can spend a morning there. Go early as the tourist buses come around noon time and if it's too crowded,... More

Location - easy to get to from Shin Sapporo station. Bus 22, point to point. Small free for the village, additional for museum. 60-90 minutes walk round the village. Mostly look see activities. And photo ops. Wished there was a guide to explain to us. There was a brochure to explain but not the same as someone talking to us.... More

If I only have a day in Sapporo, I will definitely come here! Directions from Sapporo station: 1. Buy a transfer ticket (includes the cost of the subway and bus) from the subway automated ticket machine. (450 yen) 2. Take Nanboku or Tofu line to Otaru and change to Tozai line from Sapporo to Shin Sapporo. (Approx 15 mins) 3.... More

It was snowing and we were wondering whether we should visit the historical village. We bit the bullet and from the Shin Sapporo Station on the Tozai Line, we took Bus Number 22 to the village, which is a 15-20 minute rid. Entrance for the village itself is ¥800 per adult during winter, and free for seniors and children. It... More

Helpful guides and a low entry cost makes this attraction a worthwhile see, not to mention the history

The village is quaint and a lovely walk when the weather is fine. It takes you from towns in the past to villages in the wooded areas and coastal areas, which makes for a lovely walk. There are also houses where there are guides to give you a hot cup of tea and explain to you the history of the... More

We spent almost a whole day here viewing all the historical buildings. The autumn foliage was simply gorgeous here. It turned out to be the highlight of my visit to Sapporo. Just take the train to Shin Sapporo and then board Bus 22 which takes you to the Museum's front door. There is a cafeteria serving reasonably priced food or... More

We visited this place today on a free day we had whilst in Sapporo. Our intention was to have a quick look around for an hour to maybe two hours, tops. We ended up staying over 4.5 hrs as there's so much to explore and we found it quite a charming place. Getting here is very easy - we had... More
