We took a JR to Shinrinkoen station and transferred to bus no. 22 outside the station. The place is almost deserted with few visitors. So it's like we have the whole park to ourselves. Some of the attraction like suspension bridge. Handicraft village. Fishing village....More

The exhibits are of high quality and extensive collections. A big place that requires time to see all the exhibits and going into the houses requires one to remove shoes. This would be challenging when there are big crowd and in winter times.

This village is truly historical as its name implies. Not a very typical tourist destination though. You can only reach it by taking a JR Train to Shinrin-Koen (Forest Park) Station and then taking a bus to arrive at here. The admission is not free...More

If I have not visited this place,I would not be able to imagine how Hokkaido is like in the old days. It is awesome that the Govt. makes the effort to preserve the old buildings. It is a great place to visit.
