Although there were quite many people, it never felt crowded when we were there, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. There are many picture opportunities. Autumn is the perfect time to sit down, let the sun shine, and enjoy the cool breeze. Highly recommended.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 6, 2023

The corn truck had delicious corn on the cob that was worth the queue! Wish I had more of it! The parallel street had a tranquil small park that tourists overlook and locals go there to paint. The park is beautiful both in the day and at night.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten November 14, 2023
- 197gabesSingapore, Singapore159 contributionsBeautiful park in the middle of the cityIt’s not very wide but it is long, stretching several blocks from one end to another, with the Sapporo TV tower as its distinct landmark. This open space in the middle of the city is a welcome relief. It is a great place to escape from the traffic and noise of modern city. Plenty of space for people to move about. Visited the place during summer and there are plenty of greenery around and the flowers are in full bloom, making the place so colorful. There are a couple of small stalls scattered around selling ice cream and drinks which is great as you can purchase one and sit on the many benches and watch the world passes by. Look the place.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten June 11, 2024
- Deanosaur89Edmonton, Canada8,617 contributionsChristmas Market and LightsWhen we visited in December they had a lively Christmas market and lights. From here you can get a good view of the Sapporo TV Tower which is lit up at day and night. Visiting in December was extra special because they had a light festival in the park. There was a lot of food and decoration vendors but we felt it was a little pricey when we visited and some of the lines were too long for us. We visited during the day but really enjoyed our stroll through the park at night. We had a very good crab dinner nearby and enjoyed a nice walk in the park after. We popped into a convenience store nearby to get a couple of teas as well. There were quite a few slippery areas with the ice so be mindful if you visit in the winter and watch your footing. The closest metro is Odori Station and there is a whole underground network of passageways to get to the surface and where you need to go. We spent about an hour here but passed through the park area quite a few times during our visit to Sapporo.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten August 29, 2024
- Brun066Florence, Italy13,541 contributionsPleasant park-avenue, in our case also enlivened by the “Summer Festival”.This park-avenue is perhaps the most famous place in Sapporo, thanks to the Yuko matsuri (snow festival) held there in February, and its mighty ice sculptures. But even in summer it's very attractive, for the green lawns and trees, and the quiet and relaxed atmosphere of the place and its visitors. In addition, we enjoyed – in a late afternoon – the vibrant atmosphere of the “Summer Festival”, which, located in a part of the park, includes beer drinking and eating under large pavilions in the center of the avenue.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten September 18, 2024

Big park in the middle of the city. Nothing special but a place to stretch your limbs. Since it spans across few blocks of city space, walking is not continuous as you have to wait for traffic signal

This park spreads horizontally in the center of Sapporo. Snow festival in winter, lilac blooms in early summer, summer festival in summer, autumn leaves in autumn. Although it is located in the downtown area, it is spacious, and tourists and locals alike spend their time relaxing in flower beds, fountains, beer, grilled corn, etc.

I've been here a few times in the winter, but this was my first time in the fall. The weather was good, the leaves were turning red and it was a beautiful sight.
There were no events going on so it was pretty quiet, but I really enjoyed the small crowds, so I'd like to come back in the summer next time.

As sun set early coupled with wintry snow, we had a great opportunity to enjoy the White Illumination and German Christmas Market (in Chome-2) all in one go.
We loved the vibrancy of the Christmas Market which offered trinkets, food and mulled wine plus the numerous photo stops along the way.
Odori Park was decorated and lit up from Chome-1 (Sapporo Tower) to Chome-5.
A nice leisure stroll not to be missed!

This is a very huge and beautiful park located in the center of Sapporo. It was very enjoyable to stroll here. You can take photo of the TV tower and also the mountains on the opposite side.
Interestingly, there is an underground street mall beneath the park inking different parts of the city.

A great place for park lovers and revelers. This park is very long from east to west. A view from atop of the sapporo tv tower is the main highlight of this park from summer to winter. In winter, the long stretch of this park is one of the venue during the SAPPORO SNOW FESTIVAL in February, while Winter illuminations & German christmas market can be experienced up to December 24 of midnight. This place is really beautiful during the winter season.

Visited after lunch with family.
Pros:
1) Odori Park is a must visit when in Sapporo. It is a huge and clean park with traditional snacks, restaurants, soft service ice cream, a bubble man, and shopping malls. It is also where Sapporo TV tower is located.
2) My family had a good time because we leisurely walked around the park, had ice cream and grilled sweet corn.
3) Toilet break is not a problem because of several shopping malls surrounding the park, which is always the case in Japan.
4) There are a lot of people, strolling and taking photos. Its a place to people-watch.
I couldn't think of any cons of Odori Park. It is a definitely a must-see.

hi team, are there snow already at Odori Park? Can we play snow in the park? We will arrive on 10th Dec. Is there vegetarian meal at the park? Thanks :)

It’s already snowing here in Sapporo. Definitely u can play snow in Odori even building a snow man. There is a underground shopping in Odori. Should be able to find suitable food.

hello,
I'm planning to stay in susukino and stolling along odori park.
How long will it take for us to finish the park?
thank you very much
Written May 16, 2018
If you are visiting in the summer, maybe not very long, half hour to one hour, depends on how long you want to take photos or just simply enjoy its beauty. Susukino is just a few blocks away.
Written May 17, 2018
Sadly looks like nothing. March & April generally don't have anything special. You will however get to enjoy the park itself though.
Written January 12, 2018
Saw that the snow festival will be held in this park in mid Feb. Can I expect that this festival will dominate otherattractions in that it will be difficult to move around this time of the year, as I am only planning to be there effectively for 2 full days.
Thanks for your advice
Written December 3, 2017
the park is in a contained area and as the other reviewer has said...you can move around easily underground with ease of access to all department stores & exits.

good to visit for autumn leaves n Hokkaido food this Sat 4 Nov 2017 ??

Unfortunately you missed the Autumn Fest which ended in September. Lots of food stalls & market environment on the park.
Food wise anytime of the year you can find something around Odori Park or s short walk away.
Autumn foliage is lovely in Hokkaido so you definitely can enjoy that.
