If you're in the area, to me, it's a must see. I was bit overwhelmed by the reality of being on the site.

It is only a small black memorial . It is not far from the bridge that leads to the park . We see it from the cab on the way.

It is a bit confusing why, but where the atomic bomb actually hit is about three blocks away form the memorial site. You must go see if you have traveled all that distance. It is only a statue with information on the sidewalk that walkers are passing by without even the thought of a look.

Memorial place of ground zero. Everytime I have visitors from overseas, I guide them to this place for revisiting the meaning of peace. Of course, it's up to them...

There is a placard here showing where the A bomb actually hit, a chilling way from the A bomb dome. It's a sobering sight to see (right by a fabulous okonomiyaki restaurant, too).

Amazing to see the damaged building that has become such an iconic image for the atomic bomb. There is a fence around the structure but you can go close up and photograph it. Must see!

I found this simple plaque on the footpath of a nondescript little street the most moving moment of our visit to Hiroshima. The Dome and the Peace Park and Museum each had their own impact but the simplicity of that memorial left no room for other distractions. Only 70 odd years ago 600 metres above that spot the A Bomb... More

Ground zero allows you to overlook the A dome whilst reading all about the day . The before and after photos show just how much devastation occurred

So sad and humbling and why why did this have to be? So very interesting and learned a lot of history that I was not aware of.
