It takes about 15 minutes on foot from Sannomiya station in Kobe. I keep walking to the Starbucks kitano Ijinkan to stop by here to drink a cup of coffee after that I find the little hill and then I reach the "Ijinkan" (former residences of early foreign settlers), Kitano area. It used to be the town where the people... More

A collection of restored houses / museums with some interesting objects. Good for taking some photos but definitely overpriced. Not worth the trouble unless you happen to be in the neighborhood and have some time to kill; note also that you can save some money by buying combined tickets for some of the houses.

A must-go in Kobe since there are not many distractions in this town. However, very crowded most of the time. The temple there is very nice for photo-taking but the rest is just so-so. Well, at least the Starbucks there is renowned regardless the same taste. Also, the bus going there is really really packed.

Easy to find and located in an interesting part of town. A glimpse into life of yesteryears. Can attract a lot of local visitors but a must see for Kobe.

Every countries with many foreigners, so different architecture building could be seen place by place. It is really first time for me see so many buildings from overseas in one street, and other place you could see only local buildings. Ijinkan, Kitano (Kobe). The area was historically built around homes for foreigners, with residences for British, American, French, German and Scandinavian diplomats and their families.

I took the Cityloop bus to get there. After getting off the bus, turn left and you will find the tourist ticket office. Many tourists turned right but that’s not right. Most museums require admission fees and this ticket office sells package tickets. As I am NOT a fan of architecture, the admission fees were very expensive. One of them... More
