Its slightly far from Kobe town by train, it takes around 1 hour to reach but it is really worth to visit. From here you can take arima rokko ropeway to rokkosan where you see the most beutiful autumn view of Kansai area.
Very soothing and healing. The springs are very hot with temperature approx 42 degrees C. two different types of spring - each with different healing properties.
The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Lockers are provided, have to buy the towels.

I went to Arima Onsen and found that I LOVE THIS PLACE.
It's calm, peaceful and I can walk around the town by myself.

Arima Onsen is located in the northern backside of the Rokko Mountains, and easily accessed by a Subway-Kobe Electric Railway link via Tanigami or bus from Sannomiya. It is about an hour from Hankyu Umeda terminal in Osaka.

Rode on the ropeway from mount rokko to arima onsen. The view was fantastic, and comes with japanese commentaries. The walk from the ropeway station took about 20 min (challenging slopes, not for those with mobility issues). Did not try the onsen but had a...More
