Its slightly far from Kobe town by train, it takes around 1 hour to reach but it is really worth to visit. From here you can take arima rokko ropeway to rokkosan where you see the most beutiful autumn view of Kansai area.

After taking the bus for 30 minutes from Kobe station we arrived at Arima Onsen. It was a very scenic and pretty little town up in the mountains with very fresh clean air, and a number of natural hot springs. There are two types; gold...More

I asked at Konoyu. Although it was a continuous holiday, I thought that it was not so crowded. The color of hot water is not transparent, it has color. The price was ¥ 650, there were also rental towels and others. You can walk...More

I went to Arima Onsen and found that I LOVE THIS PLACE. It's calm, peaceful and I can walk around the town by myself.

A lovely hill town. There’s narrow streets, Grand and Moderate hotels- at a price. The marvelous Arima Toy Museum is worth the half hour trip from Sannomiya station. We haven’t found a great restaurant there outside the hotels. Good for a day trip and great...More

The gold and silver onsen waters are the highlight of this onsen town. This town is very small and can be covered with a day trip. There are very few foreign tourists here, mostly Japanese tourists in this town.

Arima Onsen is located in the northern backside of the Rokko Mountains, and easily accessed by a Subway-Kobe Electric Railway link via Tanigami or bus from Sannomiya. It is about an hour from Hankyu Umeda terminal in Osaka. This is one of the oldest hot...More

Rode on the ropeway from mount rokko to arima onsen. The view was fantastic, and comes with japanese commentaries. The walk from the ropeway station took about 20 min (challenging slopes, not for those with mobility issues). Did not try the onsen but had a...More

I’ve seen people do it, but you’re not supposed to and they have signs at the entry forbidding it. If it’s small enough to put a bandaid on it, then I suggest doing that.
