Sakuraen is one of the two Japanese sake museums or exhibitions which has a restaurant. As we arrived at the the other too early, we extended our trip to this one. The exhibition itself isn't a big one, but you can take a photo there and make your own sake label, which we didn't try.
Years ago, I had a boss who liked cooking "nabe" dishes. He used not water but sake to cook. His nabe dish tasted unique, not bad at all. In Sakuraen, they use sake whose alcohol is burnt off. The dish tasted quite unique, not bad at all.

Good place for sake tasting, before purchase.
The exhibition is also very interesting if you have not visit one before.

This museum offers a video showing how sake is made and fortunately the voiceover is in English. It lasts 10 minutes
It shows how sake is only make in the winter using new rice and water.
You are then able to walk around the museum on your own to take a look at the old fashioned equipment used to make sake.
There is a restroom for public use and a gift shop that offers sake tasting plus many different types of Japanese cakes and biscuits. Sadly this establishment has almost no signage in English for all of their products, therefore customers on European tours that are taken around the museum and gift shop buy very little because they don't know what is in the bottles, boxes or packets. If only the managers of this establishment made signage in both English and Japanese, they would improve their takings and profit enormously.

I went for lunch without making a reservation. I was alone just in time, so I was able to enter the restaurant.
It seems to be a popular restaurant with locals, including groups and small groups.
There were many menu items, from small meals to full courses.
Since I was there, I decided to have cold sake and Sake Brewery Kasu Miso 󠄀 ceramic plate for lunch. It also came with snacks that went well with the sake. As expected. Everything was delicious, and it's a restaurant I'd like to visit again.
There are many types of alcohol on the menu, but I chose the smallest amount.
If there are a few people, it seems like it would be fun to compare the drinks.

This brewery produce many limited production Namazake, which is unpasteurized sake that require refrigeration at all time and rarely exported outside of Japan. There are both free tasting and tasting for a fee for the pricier selections. As usual, there are other sake related food items and souvenirs on sale as well.

Lunch and dinner is served along with "house" sake(not included in meal) I ordered the Hanashizuku Kaisei which consisted of:
3 appetizers
3 sashimi
Seasonal vegetables and beef tenderloin grilled on a small ceramic plate (you do it)
Tempura
Bowl of rice (along with some sower of seafood)
Japanese pickles
Miso soup ( not the plain one most places serve)
Dessert
Hot green tea

I've had multiple course dinners in Tokyo and Kyoto and this one was superb and at a great price. Restaurant opens at 5:00. I have no complaints. Every one was nice, attentive and helpful. If you are in Kobe this is well worth going for

We got to the Brewery area late and the lady in the store was really kind to make a little sake tasting for the two of us. Even if we didn't speak more than a few words in japanese, and she none in english, she was really kind and we understood most of the things she wanted to show us, the degrees of sake and all - we still don't know how this happened :)

We got our favorites in the gift shop with reasonable price, and left the place really satisfied. We will go back with time to spend in the brewery itself.

I ordered the half-cut bento lunch menu and a glass of freshly pressed pure rice sake.
The sake was fruity and fragrant, and very satisfying.
The half-cut bento also came with boiled conger eel rice.
