Booked this tour hoping to get to see some of the highlights while getting more personalized background information than from a guidebook. We chose one must-do and rest we left to Tomoko Y. Which worked out perfectly. Unfortunately I caught a cold, so while having the tour, we had to make some amendments. So she is very flexible and you get this, if you know what you do. So had a fantastic time.In addition she has been living abroad several times, one can tell in a positive way.

I desperately wanted to experience a Sumi-e painting class whilst in Kyoto and the lovely Tomoko made it happen. She was great and answered my never ending questions whilst showing me various techniques, brushes and mediums. I would definitely recommend a class with Tomoko. Thank you so much!!!

We were only having around 2.5 days in Kyoto. Therefore we decided to book a half-day tour with local guide who is able to take us to some of the sights in an efficient way but still providing detailled information. Tomoko Y. was simply great. I was coming down with a flu. Therefore we adapted the schedule. One can make suggestions to her or let her decide on the itinerary based on your interest. While doing the tour one can put an emphasize on things you like to do. E.g. we preferred to know more about customs than trying all the available "souvenir and food" options. So we talked about.Good mix of individual preferences and still having a guide. She has been to many places in the world and one can tell. Great job and certainly again

We only had a short stop over in Kyoto and wanted to get a good sense of this vibrant city and our day with Tomo certainly did this. Her knowledge of the city, history and culture is exceptional, her pride in this wonderful Japanese city is evident and her bubbly personality is infectious. It was also great to have someone local help us navigate the tricky public transport system. We had a wonderful day!

A very good experience following a local in a parade and then we had a wonderful evening in a small festival in Kumara, a not so far off town in Kyoto. Tomo is knowledgeable about the area and the tips she gave were so useful around.

This was a really good experience. We visited three places that were off the tourist path for a lot of non Japanese. The guide was both patient, humorous and charming and had a great back ground knowledge of the places we visited one of which I had waited for many years to visit. The timing was impeccable as we seemed to seamlessly leave and arrive on time for each guided tour. I would thoroughly recommend this guide

Tomo brought us to watch the Kurama fire festival in the outskirts of Kyoto. It was truly another side of Kyoto that I would have never expected to see without a local guide to navigate the confusing train system. She was also happy to explain to us about Japanese customs and festival traditions. If you are travelling solo or as a couple, these are the perfect small and intimate tours.
