While in Ohara, of course you want to visit the exquisite Sanzen-in, but if you are tired of crowds, be sure to visit Jikko-in. It's a little gem. There are two wonderful pond gardens. Sit inside the guest house and enjoy shinji-ike, the pond-garden laid out in the form of the Chines "heart" character. There's a really small waterfall that... More

Might as well stop at this small temple, well worth the visit. The grounds appeared a tad neglected, but for the most part, the main temple and garden were stunning. A very quiet and peaceful place, I was the only person here for a good hour. Not the top attraction in Ohara, but worth seeing. Its only a few steps... More
