Bamboo temple, locates middle of residential area. Near Suzumushi-dera temple. Walk from Kami-katsura station. Very very good atmosphere, I feel like able to cure the cancer by only bleating this air. In the temple, no able to take photo, notice on the wall says “Please refrain from laying down”. No wonder, i can see every body want to lay down... More

This was the best temple I visited in Kyoto. Not because it's the grandest or largest temple, but because it is quiet, peaceful, and preferable to the busy bamboo grove, (the temple is located in a bamboo grove). It has a stunning Japanese garden. Make sure you visit this place if you prefer a cultural experience without the hustle and... More

Just a few minutes walk from the famed Saiho-ji moss temple is Jizo-in temple, othetwise known as the Bamboo Temple as it sits amidst a Bamboo wood. To gey there from Saiho-ji, turn left from Saiho-ji entrance and when reaching the bus park a hundred yards down the road you will come to a climbing staircase opposite the junction. Follow... More

This is a quiet temple with a mysterious bamboo grove located near the Kokedera bus terminal. Most tourists overlook because of the bus stop name is another temple. Small garden and Jizo statues are also impressive.

This was a nice, quiet temple, very understated. There was abundant moss and a small bamboo grove and a nice garden. It was good to be away from hordes of tourists, and to have some time for contemplation and reflection. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit, but if I happened to be in the neighborhood it would... This small temple is a treat to visit- not many people get there and so its a great place to walk around. Ive been twice- in summer and in fall. Fall is by far the best- the paths around are glorious.

After being kind lost in the surroundings we finally found the place. Tough small its so peaceful and give you a pleasant sensation of relaxation! Worth visit if the time in Kyoto is not short.
