Beautiful walk, aspecially at spring at the cherryblossoms. There is many nice little cafeterias in the area, which is a nice place to enjoy the growds and view.

This is a 2.1 km walk - and the absolute best place to view hundreds of cherry blossom trees. We saw Geisha, had a great Japanese lunch and there are many shrines to see as well. Kyoto is a beautiful place - we were only...More

Not sure what the fuss is about. It is a pleasant walk next to a stream. Came during cherry blossoms season. After the first 200m you realise the scenery is very similar. Cherry blossom trees along the stream. A few coffee shops along the way...More

Perfect place for cherry blossoms viewing! Even though it was raining, it does not keep people from coming. Very nice walk along the path but it can be very crowded with people at certain times. We went there twice, definitely better to go either early...More

We only took this walk because Ginkaku-ji wasn't open when we came early in the morning, but it was a lovely calm way to see a little of the area.

We were lucky to catch the blossoms during our visit. There are a lot of blossom trees and the blossom leaves were falling from the trees showering everyone in little bits of pink! Kids were picking up bundles and throwing them in the air. Such...More

This is a lovely walk past a number of different temples and shrines. It was a highlight during the cherry blossom bloom. It's an Instagram hotspot, with everyone stopping regularly for snapshots. There are many little shops along the way, so if you want souvenirs...More

If you catch the timing to see Cherry Blossom in early April, it is a beautiful site and walk. Like any tourist place, plenty of shops and eating stalls. It is a very peaceful walk and enjoyable at other times of the year but most...More

A very pleasant walk along a small tree lined waterway, with a few tea shops etc. Popular in the autumn for a bit of colour. And also, rare greenery in very urban Japan. Definitely worth going this way if you're keen to see the temples...More

I strongly favor the Westin Miyako Hotel on Sanjo. It is at the heart of Higashi-yama so you can walk in one direction to the Philosopher's walk and Silver Temple and to Kyomizudera in the opposite direction. I have done... More

It took us only an hour or so to walk along the path, and we were stopping to take photos. But if you really strolled along, looking at shops, walking into the shrines, it would take the best part of a morning or afternoon.
