I love this place. It has a beautiful garden and the staff are friendly (not always the case in temples or Kyoto). They even make a point of saying that photos are ok. I've been a few times and each time the staff have been...More

Catch the 59 bus and do the Ninna-ji, Rohana-ji and Golden Pavilion together. The busses come every 10 minutes and follow the route of the temples perfectly. You can buy a bus card for a few hundred Yen and hop on and off all day....More

Beautiful temple grounds with many areas to explore. The temple is really nice to walk around and has one of the best gardens and pond areas in all of Kyoto. This is not as famous of a temple as other Kyoto temples so there are...More

Dress comfortable as walking is necessary to see everything on offer. I visited the temple as part of half day tour. Always great with English speaking tour guide and local knowledge/history chats.

This place was really quiet compared to just about every other temple in Kyoto, so that was a definite plus. I though the grounds were lovely. I was there before the sakura had arrived and some of the buildings (inc the Kannon-do) were under renovation,...More

The cherry Blossom in April was spectacular and the gardens are a very good place to see it at its best. One has to purchase a ticket to access the gardens but it was definitely worth seeing
