Nice temple, very well kept. Outside structure is beautiful, but as always, not much inside. You can sit on the wooden path and relax a bit!

How to get there? Getting to the temple is not that easy (w.r.t the other places in Kyoto). However, you can still make it in less than 45min (public transport). We took a taxi from Kinkakuji to Ninna Ji (2.3km). It costed us around (1200¥)....More

This temple is massive with a grand entrance. Part of the temple requires an entry fee of ¥500 but it's definitely worth a visit. Part of this temple has a close resemblance to the garden of Tenryu-ji but we prefer this one as it's not...More

When visiting Kyoto you have a great choice to see temples and shrines but this one is very special and has a nice park around. Not far away you can have Endo-Tempura of the best!

I was turned down politely because I had my dog with me. However they said if I have had called them before my visit they may have been able to make some arrangements for us. I hope I can visit there next time.

Very peaceful and well preserved temple. I really enjoyed visiting this temple and spending time exploring it. Do arrive early. We were there during summer, it was really hot!

By chance we stopped by at the Ninnaji as a lot of the tourists aboard the bus we rode got down here. This is a beautiful, well-preserved palace with a beautiful zen garden and vast grounds. Give yourself about three hours exploring the palace and...More

Quite a complex of building here with lots of openings to different aspects of the gardens. Can be very peaceful. Attractive viewing garden with pagoda in the background. Extensive outer gardens as well.
