Said to be one of the finest Castles in japan, bring your slippers to climb to the top! Views over the town to the (in March) snow covered mountains that fringe Matsumoto. Visit the nearby municipal museum and see the plans of the original feudal castle and it relationship to its town...mooted!

Not much left of it but you can clearly see the lay out as the gates and mounds and walls etc have been rebuilt... the geographic relationship with the close by Samurai district makes a neat package to visit.

Since this is part of the large Matsushiro tourist site, it is definitly worth a visit as its right beside the bus station.
