There are only the castle walls and outlines of where buildings once stood. In short, there isn’t much to see. However, strolling or biking around to see the other sights in matsushiro town makes the visit worthwhile. There are three samurai residences as well as...More

Like most of the castle sites, the Tenshukaku was removed. It only has the outer structure left so it's kinda like a park. There is a stone marked "海津城跡" - called Kaizujou which is the old name of Matsushirojou. The experience was better to have...More

Yeah this place was nice but there's not much left and I just feel like there are more castles that are worth visiting. I came here because I was in the area but I definitely didn't think that it was a must see attraction.

I enjoyed the castle so much, it was great to see it and all the weapons on display. I felt like there wasn't much left inside but it is great to see how the castle was and use my imagination to figure out the rest!

Not much left of it but you can clearly see the lay out as the gates and mounds and walls etc have been rebuilt... the geographic relationship with the close by Samurai district makes a neat package to visit.

Since this is part of the large Matsushiro tourist site, it is definitly worth a visit as its right beside the bus station.
