Pleasant visit

Mini bus ride within the park. Cycling routes and bike hire available. Plenty of trees and green. Sure you can park your car near the official car park. Its cheaper.

The botanical gardens are next to the top Shrine in Togakushi. It has a small lake and walk-thru gardens. The visitor center hosts ecological information as well as many stuffed animals of the forest.

The Togakushi region is splendid in summer and a place to visit both the spiritual and botanic side of Japan. The path to Okusha and the cedar trees tends to be quite crowded; take a step off the path and into the botanical garden, and you'll be in a different world.
