This is a good place to visit on a hot or rainy day. There is a central tank in the middle and you walk around it. I love the Japanese crabs because they look like they come from outer space wth their long legs.

My fiancée asked me when we were walking up to the aquarium, if this was bigger than Ripley's in Toronto. I just looked at her deadpan and said, "you'll see." This is a MASSIVE, multi-level behemoth, with so many species, I was legitimately impressed, even more so than when I went to the Boston Aquarium. The species are all fantastic... More

This is a great attraction with a wide variety of aquatic wildlife from all over the world. It's easy to travese for young to elderly and is generally disabled-accessible. Try not to go on a weekends or national holidays to avoid the crowds.

I went to the aquarium because I wanted to see the whale shark, but it turned out there were so many other animals, even fresh water ones. They even had a capybara (which for some reason was in the same tank as piranhas)! The entire aquarium is basically the big aquarium in the middle (with the whale shark and other... More

Probably the best aquarium I have been to. Wide range of fish, squid, penguins and jellyfish that just goes on and on. Buy the joint ticket that includes the ferris wheel for a few extra dollars. Its very high!!!

Informative and good attraction for families with children. Young or old, everyone were fascinated by the aqua shows and range of marine life Children were kept attentive and participation in some activities makes it a good entertaining spot.

The Osaka Kaiyukan (Aquarium) is a great spot to visit whether taking the family or couples dating. The indoor Aquarium is ideal when the weather keeps you from doing outdoor activities due to rain or cold temperatures. There are lots of interesting sea life to see, and restaurants, and coffee shops in the area.

The Kaiyukan (by itself) it simply so so. Better aquariums in the states. The tempozan (next door) was more interesting. Check out the NANIWA section. This place duplicates olden Japan with lots of food kiosks. About 4-5 restaurants in on the right side, small restaurant with seating all in a row -- only for about 10 people total. Ask them...
