Me and my friend took a walk to the castle, since our hostel was quite close. It's easy to find and the castle area is really nice! There's alot of food carts, so definitely try some 😀 The prices are decent. The price for the Castle museum is good too, the main point is going up to the viewing platform... More

The castle tower of the present Osaka castle was rebuilt more than 80 years ago. The original castle was built over 430 years ago, but now it is buried in the ground. A project to restore the buried original building is in progress. It is a very popular sightseeing spot for tourists, so we were in a long queue climbing... More

The castle itself has been restored but it is still impressive, and I would imagine even more so during the cherry blossom period. We did not enter the museum and the castle as we were short of time, but you can walk in the gate to get a good view of the castle. There are also some food stalls there,... More

An impressive place to visit. The castle is surrounded by water. I did feel the need to go inside. I was happy just walking around the exterior of the castle. Beautiful building. Great for photography.

This is the third castle on this spot, being a reconstruction from the 1930s. That said it is a faithful reconstruction on the outside of castle number two. The original castle was attacked and burnt, and you pass the site of the suicide of the young lord and his mother on the way it, but it is not a somber... More

sadly more of a museum then a restoration of the castle. the grounds and the castle itself from the the outside however are beautiful. lots of people - to the extent that it was hard to see the exhibition due to the crowds.

Most castles in Japan were bombed during WW2 - including Osaka castle. Still, this reconstruction is worth a visit for fans of castles (and history buffs). I had a great time exploring during my first visit to Osaka in 2015.

We were very impressed by the castle with its amazing most and sloped walls. The inside of the castle is equally impressive with models and battle/artefact displays. A great cultural interlude in the bustling night life of Osaka.

You must see this place! Is so fantastic, its gardens are magical and if you are hubgry you can find a great variety of street food available during opening hours. Remember to visit before 4:30pm. They say it closes at 5 but everything starts to shut down at 4:30 in the afternoon. The garden are great to prepare a picnic... More
