We visited thinking this would be similar to Tokyo's Haraujuka street, but it's more 'heavy metal/ R&B' than 'hyperdolly'. Still lots of bars/shops/interesting places to poke around, but the overall feel is more heavy

Although the shops are generally overrated without much variety, there are heaps of small cafes and restaurants that make it worth a visit. It's a shady area at night though, so probably not the best place to stay as a family.

This is a rather hip area of Osaka, very fun to shop. There is Stussy and other stores here. Also, for sports goods you can visit Spotaka, they have from Swim stuff to Snowboards to Skateboards and all. Good prices and good brands (Burton etc)....More
