Mali needs cheering up

I know that the animals need a lot of cheering up, but since I live in downtown Manila, this is the closest place my son would ever see an elephant and a hippo. We have visited... read more

I know that the animals need a lot of cheering up, but since I live in downtown Manila, this is the closest place my son would ever see an elephant and a hippo. We have visited two times already and my son has been asking me to come back. Since its summer in Manila, I suggest you bring extra clothes... More

We somehow enjoyed the experience of seeing animals in the zoo but it was totally different from the first time we visited the place when we were kids. Most of the time of our visit, we can't resist to notice the situation of every animals in there. They seem to be very sickly and awful. Plus, you have to be... More

Sad and difficult to understand why this zoo excists. You can see there is no money at all to maintain this zoo and not even for the animals. Dont even expect many animals here, there are just a few and its not ok at all when you see how they have to live. Small cages, dirty, nervous,.. They should think... More

Small zoo and botanical garden, but good to spend time with loved ones, especially if you have kids, they offer horse riding and taking pictures with baby animals. No matter how big or small zoo is, animals kept in captivity will not make anyone happy, especially not the animals... Should be much cleaner... Overall, educational and precious spent time.

I have been a few times to this zoo. There is even an online petition for the single elephant there to be released into a refuge. I have seen dead snakes on the pathways, turtles out of their terrariums, sick and dead animals. The place is not clean, the animals are thin and weak. It is overall a very sad... More

Looking for something to do with my day, I went to the Manila Zoo And Botanical Gardens. There were trees in the zoo, but to call them a "Botanical Garden" is an abuse of the concept of a garden. The zoo itself looked like it was built 50 years ago and hadn't been maintained since that time. The cages and... More

The last time we visited the zoo was when i was still a kid and a lot of things have changed in the 20+ odd years we've been here. We granted our son's wish to visit a zoo for his 4th birthday and the zoo did not disappoint my sons' expectations. He was so excited to see all the animals... More

I have been to the Manila zoo several times since childhood, since this was one of our Christmas traditions. I have seen how the animals have deteriorated through the years, I really hope something can be done to ensure that the animals in the zoo are healthier.
