This review is quite late. As a resident of the City of Manila I have visited the Japanese Garden a hundred times over. It is very disappointing to see how this place has deteriorated. Today, its grandeur and beauty is already gone due to poor maintenance.

Just like the Chinese Garden in Rizal Park, there's not much to see inside the Japanese Garden. There's a small fee to pay to get inside. You'll be finished in a few minutes.

So sad because the garden was awfully left out. Not cleaned and not maintained. It use to be beautiful before

It is located inside the rizal park by the side of the open air auditorium. It is bare and not well maintained. currently the temp is 38F the grass is brown and dirty. A proper makeover is needed to have proper garden.

Visiting the Japanese & Chinese gardens in Rizal Park, Manila was meant to be a highlight of our trip. We were very disappointed in both; the gardens are bare, lots of rubbish lying around and the lake was brown and murky looking - we were not impressed at all! The temp was 37° and there were several kiosks selling food... More

The park is in need of cleaning and maintenance. The park could be really nice with just a little cleaning and regular maintenance. It suffers from the same lack of care that most public owned properties in the Philippines does. Entry fee is 10 pesos a person (about $0.12 US).

It tries to give one the impression of Japanese ambience, but the neighboring Chinese (Confucius) Garden was far more interesting. I know Japanese culture is characterized by simplicity and the very basic, but there should be more to this place I think besides the Hiroshima memorial. The lagoon is full of dirty, stagnant water which could be a breeding area... More

I can't believe that this place is here in Trip Advisor! We went here to look for a place for our engagement shoot and it was a huge disappointment! The park is supposed to be clean and safe for the kids but this is the exact opposite of what it should be. You will be hugely disappointed if you will... More

Nothing particularly Japanese about it, and not much of a garden. Essentially a run down park with a dirty green pond. The plaza in the surrounding area is interesting enough and worth checking out, but save your 5 pesos and don't bother visiting the Japanese Garden.
