We love going to the NC Zoo and go there several times a year. You seem to see something different each time you go. The Zoo is very well run and never seems to be crowded as long as you do not go on a holiday.

We love the place!!! Kids had a lot of fun there. Nick, the polar bear is awesome!!!!! There is a great air hike area. We feed the giraffes and we saw the elephant taking his shower. It's perfect for family and kids.

A very nice zoo! We attended with 2nd grade field trip! The shuttle did not run until 11am, although we we're told it started at 10:30, which meant we had to take the trail to get to the North American entrance. One restaurant was open and you weren't allowed to bring in food. We waited in line for 20 minutes to... More

You can not go wrong taking your family (or just yourself) to this Zoo! There is so much to see and do here that you could spend the day without even realizing it. But it is also laid out so that if you were crunched for time you could see the entire zoo in just a few hours. Be prepared... More

Has 2 sectors of animals- African and American. Park near African animals so that you can quickly see zebra, giraffe... Has a plenty of ride options van like, tram like ... within the zoo to go from one sector to other.. kids loved watching elephants, rhinos... would need a day to cove the entire zoo.

I am not a fan of zoos from an animal rights perspective. However I must say that if zoos are a necessary evil for education and activism, then the NC Zoo got it right. The animals have acres and acres of land to roam in as opposed to the constrictive enclosures at most zoos I have been to. I know... More

This is a large zoo. We walked around 8 miles in the day. It was a great experience. A warm November day and most of the animals were about. No giraffes or zebras as they are working on the enclosure. Also where are the meerkats in modern zoos? This is a large well laid out. Zoo. Lots to see and... More

The park is wonderfully large, expansive and absolutely beautiful. Having gone in the fall, the gorgeous changing colors are an added bonus to the experience! Truly admired the size of some of the exhibits. The puffins, gorillas, and chimps stole the day! Very fun to watch as they played. Highly suggest visiting Africa in the morning hours. The grazing animals... More

This is a nice zoo/park. It's set up more like a park. There is plenty of space in the zoo so even if the parking lot looks crowded, it's likely not too crowded in the zoo. There is a lot of walking. Like any other zoo or amusement park, the food and drinks are priced ridiculously high. Try to go... More

October: A beautiful zoo, so clean of litter, good signage (so you can find the lion habitat!). Lots of trees and therefore shady! Animal habitats are clean and large and appropriate to the animal. We were there on a Thursday and yes there were school children. Of course. But mostly well behaved and well chaperoned! We walked, and walked, and... More
