In my opinion Fort Macon State Park was the best part of on trip to Atlantic beach! So much to do and see and the beaches were beautiful! When I visit again I'm coming here first!

Well preserved, great architecture and planning in the day. Nice excursion to learn the history of the fort. Exhibits well presented and not difficult to walk.

It's amazing when you visit a fort how many times it's changed hands. Fort Macon is no exception. The British also took this area during the late 1700's. The fort is a fantastic visit for all ages.

I have budding history buffs who love to come here each summer to see the cannons and walk the grounds of the fort. The fort offers an informative movie and interesting exhibits. Plus, there are beautiful views of the water from atop the fort.

I'm not sure. They are doing a beach erosion project with piping sand from the Fort Macon beach a mile or do down towards Atlantic Beach using large pipes. This is just a guess. Best thing to do is call the park
