I had to really look for this place so keep your eyes peeled because it is not on the main drag. But it is worth the extra effort to find it. Very unique pottery. Nice staff.

This was our first time in Avon and I had googled some attractions to check out while here. This one was my favorite by far. If you call ahead you can get the schedule for "make your own" projects that need a few days to cure and fire. I missed the Tuesday morning session by going in the afternoon; it... More

So many things to look at. The work of different artists gives you lots of choices. The quality of the pieces are exceptional. I met the owner and a couple of salespeople and they were so warm and welcoming. You won't be able to walk out with just one thing!

This is a must stop on your shopping list. They have have something for everyone on your gift list. I absolutely love their pottery both made in their studio and from other regional potters. They have locally made jewelry, paintings, and photography. And one of my favorites (aside from their awesome friendly staff) is the fact that they have classes... More

I had the opportunity to take a class at Kinnakeet clay. The instructor was extremely knowledgable, entertaining and patient. Each student got to make a cup or small serving dish out of pre made clay slabs and then decorate with a variety tools. The objects were then glazed and fired by staff and available for pick up in a few... More

We went there as a group -- a women's retreat staying just up the road at Kite Club Hatteras (which is within walking distance). We had a blast designing and painting our Fairy Houses. Everything was explained well -- I'm a clay newbie and was able to do it with ease. So much fun! The displayed art that is for... More

I spent a week in the OBX with friends the last week in September 2016. Our adventures included a pottery class at Kinnakeet Clay. We took the bowl and mug class and had a blast. I knew nothing about pottery and only took the class because my friends wanted to. They held two classes in one day, 10:00 and 2:00,... More

Most of the shops are right on hwy 12, this one is slightly off of the main road, but worth it! Really not far to get to it, and lots of neat pottery! A good variety of items, from expected bowls, tumblers, etc, as well as drawer pull, ornaments, pendants, etc. I bought a few small items and thought they... More

I visit the showroom every year during our OBX vacation and always leave with a new favorite treasure. This year my 7 year-old daughter and I participated in the fairy house class and had a wonderful time! It was a great break from the sun (and all of the boys). We just received our pieces in the mail and they... More
