I love places like this, that hold collections of unique and historically interesting artifacts. I enjoyed the geologic collection located just past the entrance and the table that was carried by Mr. Kautt on his back, 5 miles form Tappen, ND to his homestead. having family in the area who has donated stuff to the heritage museum and also having ancestry history made the museum very interesting. However finding some one who has a key and being able to visit if it is the off season is difficult if it happens at all. However it is interesting to walk around the out buildings. We... More

This museum is small but has a varieity of History and great for the whole family, I found it very interesting because I knew a lot of the families they had the history on

The McIntosh County Heritage Center in Ashley is a perfect example of a great museum, with an early rural Lutheran Church, a sod house, a one-room school and other historical buildings on site.
