We heard this was a good library and the review was right. It was a great place to hang out for part of a snowy day. Lots of magazines and newspapers. I even joined the local book talk and got some good recommendations. This is obviously a community center with lots of interesting things going on.

My kids and I stopped in on a recent visit to Ashland. It was out first time there and we thoroughly enjoyed the children's library. I'm not sure if it a regular things, but when we were there they had a hands on sand box with toys. The sand was not ordinary sand! It was kinetic sand, which according to... More

Step into the charm and comfort of the Ashland Library!! Touch the books and feel the knowledge pouring out of it. Love still having a library around to spend the day reading ....looking through books, and taking a deep breath and appreciating the information at my finger tips!!

I have visited the library almost weekly for 10 years. The staff is very friendly. There are a lot of community meetings, films, book clubs taking place here. It is open 40 hours a week. Large children books section with reading groups and story hours!

This sounds like a crude joke, but bear with me. The Ashland Library is a beautiful, historic building. However, as a tourist, that isn't why you'll find yourself there. Many of the retail businesses in downtown Ashland do not have public bathrooms. Likewise, the restaurants reserve theirs for customers. So, the shop keepers direct you to the library. Unfortunately, this... More

a small easy to locate local library with helpful staff and a few cozy chairs where you can peruse the books and periodicals. Even a "free" section where you can leave and/or take books or magazines

A great place to just sit and read or do research or find a book. Maybe even read it in the shade of one of the trees outside!

Many authors live in Ashland which may have helped the librarians amass such a wide and complete collection of books. The library is very pleasant inside for a tourist to sit in and do research or to read for pleasure. Parking although limited does exist behind the building. If the play you saw is over and you aren't ready for... More

For visitors, the Ashland Library is an 1918 "Carnegie" library, with a modern extension. It has all the stuff one would expect in a library whether you're 60+ or 6. Books, DVD's, internet, lots of different newspapers, kid's section, etc. Staff is helpful. Easy to get a card and check out stuff. Atmosphere is comfortable to read and relax. Frequent... More

I haven't been to the library for years: I mean, who needs to read from a whole book when you can read a snippet of what you need over the web. But, wait, what if you want a reference book: from Chilton's automotive to a travel guide. The Librarian couldn't have been more helpful: I renewed my Library Card, checked... More
