Nice and shady Garden area with good sculptures of popular storybook character. Only downside the approx. 24 sculptures are at two locations not one. Must drive a couple of miles to the second location and it does not have accessible parking like the first. Otherwise...More

Loved the quaintness of this and the whole town. Interactive with iPhone to hear a partial reading of the books these sculptures go with. We also visited the National Childrens Center for Illustrated Literature (NCCIL) -- wonderful place.

Nice place to stop with children if you’re in the area. Note that this is not a playground, but a sculpture garden with cute opportunities for pictures.

One of the things I love about Abilene is the Children's literature sculptures scattered throughout the downtown area. From Everman Park on the South by the Railroad to the Adamson-Spaulding Storybook Garden on the Northend of Cypress St.

It is on the grounds of the convention center. I do not know if the center is open all the time or not? Abilene is fairly small and I'm sure you could find a restroom somewhere close by. This is a really unique place... More
