Go for the statue alone

There's a statue of a specific incarnation of Santa Claus out front that is priceless. I didn't tour the museum, but I love that statue. Abilene has great statuary throughout.

Went with my 2 yr old and 5 yr old while visiting family. It's a nice place for the kids to play and explore for 45-60 minutes but is fairly small. Nice thing is it is in the same building as an art museum and up stairs they have a boot museum which is cool.

This is an absolute "must see" when visiting Abilene, Texas. Even if you don't have children, the museum offers a wide variety of exhibits that will interest everyone and the overall beauty of the restored building is incredible

The title "children's museum" is misleading. There is a large room over an art exhibit and under a history exhibit, that is for children. It's clean, with interesting and fun hand's on activities, and a very well constructed "theatre" to play in. If I had a crawling or toddling child, I would have loved the "under 4" area. My 7... My kids could spend an entire day here playing & pretending!! There is a camera that they can pretend they are on the news. There are so many learning areas it is hard to pick a favorite. I was a stay at home mom & took my children there every week because there was always something new going on. I... More

good nice learning environment with hands on kid related activities. Nice place to kick back and get out of the heat while the kids can play and learn in a nice atmosphere

The museum is nothing large, and it doesn't compare to other children's museums like the one in San Antonio, but for a smaller city, this one is fun for the afternoon. My son is two, and he really seemed to enjoy himself. There is an ambulance with lights and a dummy in the back for children to practice doctoring. There... More

This is a half of floor in the Grace Cultural Museum. There is neat things to see, but it is very small. We are from Austin, where our children's museum is two stories and could take a better half of a day to explore. This may entertain a child for an hour or two.
