Comprised of the Amarillo Civic Center and the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts, the Amarillo Civic Center Complex is the primary meeting place for over 300,000 residents living in the Texas Panhandle. Conveniently located in downtown Amarillo, Texas, easy access to Interstates 27 and 40 (Historic Route 66) and over 2000 committable hotel rooms within 10 minutes make it an excellent choice for conventions, meetings, concerts, and special events. The Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts houses a 1300 seat auditorium, rehearsal/education room, spacious multi-level lobby, and numerous dressing rooms. It is designed with acoustical excellence in mind and serves as a landmark in downtown Amarillo. It is equipped with a one-of-a-kind orchestra shell that retracts into an upstage garage area to reveal a fully equipped road house. Good production, especially for a small, local company. The venue is beautiful, and they are very proud that they own all of the equipment - they had just installed the new follow spots before this show and people were excited to see them deployed. Good sight lines, and very architecturally interesting - just a really nice, small venue.

Located in downtown Amarillo. The sound is fantastic in the Globe News Center. The balcony is sometimes a little warm.

If hearing great music is your goal this is the venue for you. The downside is that the seats are narrow as well as most of the aisles. This auditorium seats 1200 to 1400 individuals.

Incredible symphony experience. Excellent conductor. One of the best orchestras in the country. Must see if you have the opportunity.

We went to see Opera Highlights with soloist Mary Jane Johnson also Copland's Rodeo and fully enjoyed both performances. The sound system acoustics is very good and our seats were perfect. The soloist sang songs from famous operas and the conductor Jacomo was himself entertaining. The building itself is well appointed and the staff very helpful. Looking forward to more... More

Very small menu, the color of the stage is so in your face that it takes way from whatever goes on,on the stage..They don't have enough things going on to even get excited about the place... one event every four months is not the full use of something so expensive to the tax payers

One of the most acoustically correct public buildings in the US. Worth the visit to see and hear any performance.

We always enjoy concerts there. Excellent acoustics and there's not a bad seat in the house. At this writing, parking is difficult if events are also going on at the civic center.
