Wish I could rate this more than 5 stars! We chose Cowgirls and Cowboys of the West because we wanted an experience that was, as Phyllis (the owner) explained, not your typical nose to tail ride. It was amazing! Cherry and Kendra were our very friendly guides with an extensive knowledge of local history and the workings of the ranch.... More

I LOVE that this is NOT a nose to tail trail ride. They actually encourage you to spread out from each other and even ride next to someone if you want to. This is a working ranch and they take you many places around the vast property with them to check on a few things while also taking you along... More

We rode with our 3 boys (ages 12,10,7) who had done trail riding before but didn't like the nose to tail style. This was perfect because we could spread out and trot. I felt safe and the girls were kind and knowledgeable. They made us all feel comfortable. Loved seeing the bulls and great scenery. It wasn't just another boring... More

We went for a two hour ride with my family of four, including two adults a teen, and an 8 year old, all on their own horses. The trip included beautiful scenery, and most importantly the girls where knowledgeable and safety conscious. Most importantly we were allowed to really ride, not nose and tail riding. The horses were also safe,... More

Loved the history that was shared as we were viewing the beautiful Palo Duro Canyon.! The cowgirls leading our group were very personable and vigilant. We had novice and experienced riders. All had a great time. Wonderful not to have to ride nose to tail!!!

We had such a great time. The cowgirls were awesome. They knew the history of the area and had some really great stories to tell. They made everyone feel comfortable on the horses and showed us just what to do. The horses where really good and easy to ride. The scenery was beautiful and we have some great pictures. If... More

We went for a long weekend to Amarillo. My husband has been wanting to go on a horse ride and I looked through the different horse rides and trail rides in the area. I selected Cowgirls and Cowboys because of the location and getting to ride close to the canyon and because it was not your typical nose-to-tail trail ride.... More

My family and I are traveling across the US and were staying in Amarillo, Texas, for a night. As we were in Texas, I wanted to go horseback riding and take the kids on their first ride. I couldn't have chosen a better place! The cowgirls were friendly, courteous and professional. They expertly assessed our level of experience and ensured... More

This ranch features rides that are not nose to tail. Instead they work to accomadate the various skill levels of the riders. The guides are knowledgeable in the local history and share it willingly. The horses were well taken care of and according to my wife were quite happy. Non riders were offered the opportunity to explore the ranch with... More

Guide was very good and has given many Information about the ranch and the beautiful landscape. My horse was good conditionated and it was wonderful to ride. Horseback riding in is more expensive than in Austria. But, for a Horseback Rider it is necessary to ride in the Wild West and If you make this than take the cowgirls and... More
