What a great place to walk/hike. Beautiful area to visit, wee bit difficult to get to. Luckily there was a shop across from the entry point we went to so we could grab some water. If I lived here I would certainly walk my dog...More

We found Zilker Park on accident and immediately recognized its worth in Austin. After a workout in the park, we took a ride on the Zilker Zephyr -- a great way to visit the park (and something that seemed fun for the children on the...More

This was our first contact with the city of Austin. We decide to walk around the river using the tracks from the park. Very good tracks and beautiful scenery. Lots of options so you have to pay a lot of visits. We parked at the...More

Rented a canoe here for a couple of hours. It was very relaxing to paddle through the calm part of the Colorado River. Best to do it in the spring when it's not so hot. Bring your picnic basket and relax in the park afterwards.

Ziker Park is a true part of Austin. We were here for ACL Fest 2016, and with thousands of other people we had an absolutely wonderful time visiting the part of the three day festival. There are many different places to eat across the bridge,...More

This is an Austin gem. It's a wonderful green space, right in the middle of the city. Take a swim in Barton Creek, and bring your dog along, too.

For the little ones their is the train, the swings, etc. For the big ones there is rowing, biking, hiking, frisbie, kite flying, a place to toss the ball with your dog. It's a don't miss" when visiting Austin!

The water is beautiful, and you can even see a few turtles if you're lucky! A nice place for a run or leisure walk, and also cool t check out if you're on the way to Barton Springs.

Driving by it always seems like there is a lot going on. I have been to a theater production there at night and the place was pretty crowded.
Could someone give me feedback if this HUGE park is a good place for children under five? Besides the train ride are the swings, slides etc or just water, hiking etc? Any suggestions of other places to take five yr old and under? We are coming for the races next weekend so us gals will want someplace to take the kiddos while the guys take in F1 races. Thanks for any input friends of Tripadvisor!

No. There is no tent camping at that park. But there are in other parks in the area that have tent camping.
